Waiting on God. Aggressively. (And Refreshing My Inbox Anyway.)
Waiting seasons are wild because no one prepares you for how active they feel.
You’re told to “be patient,” but patience doesn’t mean passivity. It means living your life while holding space for something unresolved — and that’s exhausting.
I’ve waited on answers while updating my résumé.
I’ve waited on healing while managing school drop-offs and therapy appointments.
I’ve waited on clarity while asking God the same question in slightly different ways, just in case He missed my tone the first time.
And yes — I refresh my inbox.
Faithfully. Repeatedly. Aggressively.
Waiting on God doesn’t mean you stop hoping or stop checking or stop wondering. It means you keep showing up without clarity — which honestly takes more faith than certainty ever did.
What I’ve learned (the hard way) is that waiting seasons reveal how much pressure we put on ourselves to “wait correctly.” Calmly. Politely. Quietly.
But Scripture is full of people who waited loudly. Who asked again. Who questioned. Who hoped stubbornly.
Waiting is not a character flaw.
It’s a circumstance.
Technology has been a strange ally here. I use reminders not just for tasks, but for truth. Notes titled things like “Do Not Spiral Today” and “This Is Not the End.” I schedule follow-ups because structure helps my nervous system when the outcome is unknown.
Waiting aggressively doesn’t mean you don’t trust God.
It means you care.
And if your waiting includes prayer, coffee, job applications, deep breaths, and a little side-eye at the calendar — congratulations. You’re doing it honestly.
